Not sure what has gone on but know I have been a long time without a computer.
It is working now had to erase everything and start over not happy.
What I need to know is how do I get my avast back?
A crash shouldn’t remove avast. So are you saying it isn’t there or just not running ?
If not running, try a repair of avast. Add Remove programs, select ‘avast! Anti-Virus,’ click the Change/Remove button and scroll down to Repair, click next and follow. You may require a reboot.
David, it appears that the user has “erased everything and started over” so it’s probably a re-format / re-install.
Sandy55, in order to get Avast back, you’ll simply need to visit http://www.avast.com and download the version that you had before the “crash” (free, pro, AIS, etc.).
If you had the free version, just install and re-register. If you paid for a different version, install that version and go here to get a replacement license http://www.avast.com/support
Thanks I did need to reinstall everything I think I did it correctly time will tell. I had the pro version whatever it was I had on my computer avast would not work neither would SAS. Lets see if I get it again. I still have to reinstall excel and word programs.
Sounds good Sandy. In order to prevent a full re-install later on, you should consider creating a backup or using image software in the future so that you can get your computer in full working order with a lot less work.
A little bit of effort in prevention allows for a lot less work in repair. 8)

The link here is a fast effective way of getting a replacement license however the reply email tells me they have no record of my account
I have sent an email with a copy of the thank you for purchasing but so far no response. Other options? ideas?
Did you use the original email address from when you paid for Pro?
I paid thru pay pal elemental 5 the link from them to get the original license has no expired. No answer from avast yet. Have sent an email to contact us including my ref # from when I bought pro in the welcome to avast email. There is not reply address for avast with that email. Further ideas?
If you have a reference # and the original welcome email, I don’t know why they wouldn’t be able to find your account. Hopefully someone from support will help you out soon, as we can’t help with licenses.
I don’t know if you have tried the - Resend avast License http://www.avast.com/resend-license.v2.php.
All that requires is the original email address that you used when purchasing your license.
