Computer doesn't boot after installation on new HP computer

Hello,
I was wondering if someone could help me out with my situation. I’m setting up a new all in one HP computer. I install avast! which installs fine, the program runs but when I restart my computer it doesn’t boot anymore.

Safe mode doesn’t work so my only choice is to revert back to factory settings. I installed a bunch of programs at the time so I wanted to see what program was causing it. I just completed a factory restore and restart the computer multiple times to see if it has any problems; Nope. Then after it restarts I install avast! then restart and bam! I get the screen trying to automatic restore the computer. I know this isn’t a windows 10 issue since I am currently running Windows 10 on this computer and avast is running fine. I attempted to use the option that tries to troubleshoot starting problems but that didn’t work either.

I have tried multiple installers, one from ninite and one from the official website. I haven’t tried using an older version then upgrading. I’ll see how that goes but if anyone else has any ideas I’d be very grateful.

This is the computer in question if anyone is curious: http://www.amazon.com/HP-Pavilion-23-q120-23-Inch-Desktop/dp/B013KKFMOK?ie=UTF8&ref_=cm_sw_em_r_cawdtop_IoZaxbE019HE6_tt

Have you used these links ?

Although I have seen instances where for reasons unknown a windows 10 system takes a strong dislike to Avast… Is Avast the first programme after windows has installed ?

Download Avast Uninstall Utility to your Desktop.
Download the correct version of Avast
Avast Free
Avast Pro
Avast Internet Security
Avast Premier
Disconnect from the net
Uninstall Avast via control panel

[]Run the uninstall tool and accept the reboot to safe mode
[
]Once complete reboot your system
[*]Reinstall Avast

On top of what essexboy has mentioned, have you removed the pre-installed AV? if it came with one.

Hey guys, I was able to install an old version of the program and restarted just fine. I then updated the program and upon restart it is asking for automatic repair.

I am pretty sure I removed the preinstalled anti virus my first time but once I repair it I will try that and report back.

Thanks for the quick replies.

Which version worked ?

I used this version Avast Free Antivirus 10.2.2215 24 March, 2015

I tried this and its still giving me the same thing. Avast is the first program I install after I uninstall the previous AV, restart and I even ran the installer in admin just in case.

What is the default installed av ?
Did you use the removal tool for it before installing avast ?

The default AV is Mcafee. Yes I used the removal tool, restarted then installed avast.

hmm, that should work without a problem.
Have you tried installing only selecting the shields when installing avast ?

What Operating System ??? Any other Security related programs ???

Windows 10 is mentioned twice in the first post.

Let’s use a diagnostic tool and we may see the problem. Certainly better than continuing to guess.
See here >> https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=53253.0
Scroll down to the second picture … Farbar Recovery Scan Tool … run as instructed and attach the two diagnostic logs.

You’ll find attachments below the box you write in … Attachments and other options

Do you want me to run this when I’m running the old version or do you want me to run it after I update to the new version? Once I update the computer is rendered unbootable. I can’t enter safe mode. Command line works but I don’t know how to use that.

Run it with the old version

Did two by accident.

Here are the logs.

McAfee still has its full set of drivers running
