help! i am a computer novice who was impacted by the mess on wednesday. now my computer boots up to the desktop and freezes. nothing works. i have all my christmas data and embroidery designs on this machine and i am desperate to get it working. any ideas? remember, i’m a newbie. i submitted a tech ticket yesterday morning but haven’t heard a peep from them.

Can you boot in SafeMode (repeatedly press F8 while booting)?
Backup your files… and then we can start thinking in what is wrong with your computer?

ok, i got safe mode but not sure what to do now.
Run a full avast scanning from there.
Also, backup your christmas data and embroidery designs.
