computer has slowed on BOOTUP significantly since last update

anyone experience a severe slow down on bootup since the upgrade to 4.7.1029??

my system will just hang at the desktop, just showing the wallpaper…no taskbar or activity at all

i examine the taskmanager and there is NO cpu activity (0% utilization) going on…it’s just paused… and the last process that loaded was ashServ.exe. there the system sits, and then after about 2-3minutes ashWebSv.exe and ashMaiSv.exe load and everything else follows to completion.

anyone experiencing this craziness!!!

i’m thinking about just uninstalling avast4 and reinstalling… but want to know of another solution if there is one.

i’m running winXP sp2, abit kv7v board, 250gig HD, zonealarm, 512mb ram, avast4 home

Maybe you can run Microsoft BootVis and see which driver is delaying the loading of the operational system.

Try going into Avast Program Settings and then in Troubleshooting. Check “Delay Loading Of Avast Services…” and see if that helps.
