smesvc.exe is not a part of 360 safe. After I uninstall 360 safe, smesve.exe still there. I think it is the file that make my msn automatic send file to my online contact. After I deleted it, I don’t have that problem anymore.

I think you are right about smesvc.exe, you got to it before I did. If everything is okay then you can cleanup, if not let me know. I don’t see any more vundo.

Time to cleanup

  1. Create a new restore point

You must be logged on to an administrator account
Go to Start - All Programs - Accessories - System Tools System Restore.
Click Create a restore point, and then click Next.
In the text box labeled Restore Point Description, type a name for this restore point

Remove old restore points

Disk Cleanup - Launch the Disk Cleanup tool and then select the more options tab. On this tab you will find a section for System Restore. If you press the Clean Up button for that section, Windows will delete all restore points except for the most recent one.

  1. Open OTMOVEIT then click the Clean Up button. You may get prompted by your firewall that OTMoveIt wants to contact the internet - allow this. A cleanup.txt will be downloaded, a message dialog will ask you if you want to proceed with the cleanup process, click Yes. This will delete all the tools you have downloaded plus itself.

3.a good little clean up program

CleanUp

  1. Open the Folder Options in the Control Panel. On the View tab make sure Show Hidden Files and Folders is unchecked and Hide Protected Operating System Files and hide known extentions are checked. Click
    OK.

MSN was only a part of your problem, if the vundo would have gotten loose, you would have had bigger problems. You dodged one there.

You should consider a firewall besides the windows firewall, it doesn’t provide outbound monitoring. A search of these forums will lead you to some good free ones.

If you are satified, then so am I.

I’m very satisfied, thank you for helping me along these 3 days.
I have considered to install a firewall instead of using windows firewall. However, my computer don’t have enough RAM to support it. Can you recommend me a firewall that is free and consume less RAM?

You’re welcome.

I just put comodo on a computer with a 900mhz processor and 256 ram. It seems fine. Here’s a link to a disscision on some others.

http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=30808.0

Take care.

Thanks, I will try PC Tool Firewall.

You welcome. ;D
