computer locks up

Hello

I installed Avast 6.0.1289 last week after I uninstalled the AVG antivirus. Since then, if the computer isn’t used for an hour or two, it locks up. The screen is black and unresponsive. I have to shut off the power, wait a few seconds and then restart. Everything works great otherwise.

  • Ensure that all remnants of AVG are gone - AVG8.x (or higher) Remover, download tool from here, http://www.avg.com/us-en/utilities there is a 32bit and 64 bit windows version, ensure you use the correct one.
