Computer not connecting to ADNM

We use a server with ADNM.

The computer in question last scanned on July 17th, but ADNM says it is still scanning (green play button).
But, recent scans show that it is still waiting and recent updates show that it failed to update virus definitions.

Verifiying offline status put an exclamation point next to the computer name meaning that it can ping the computer but cannot connect.

Avast logs on the computer show A LOT of errors inserting records into a database from the 17th, which is when the problems started happening.

The scan from the 17th shows hundreds of files in red with result of Rootkit: hidden file. None of them had any action taken on them, though.

I disconnected the computer from the network and ran a scan with Malwarebytes, which found nothing.

I’ve restarted the computer.

I’m going to try a few different scan programs and look in the logs some more and see if I can find anything.

Anybody have any ideas? All other computers on the network have been scanning and updating fine.

some of the error messages from avast error log:

Third server conn attempt (last good: ip address) failed. (error 00002747).

storage query "INSERT INTO AgentPathNames (Name) VALUES (?);"failed. Error description: “unable to open database file[1]”.

I figured I’d at least post the solution to this problem even though nobody wanted to help. :wink:

I scanned with spybot, which found nothing.

I uninstalled avast, not from the ADNM, but through control panel on the computer itself.

I restarted the computer.

I updated the driver for the network adapter, which may or may not have helped.

I installed avast on the computer from the ADNM.

I updated the software and virus database on the computer from the ADNM.

I ran a scan on the computer from the ADNM, which found nothing.

Everything seems fine now.
