Computer not recognising blank DVD's

Hi ,
Can anyone help please ,
My computer is not recognising blank DVD’S [ of any make ] , although it can see the drive …any suggestions ?
I’m not a wizard on the pc , so any help in plain english please ,

I have Nero 8 , and have just tried it with that programme , and it works with that , but Windows still won’t recognise the disc , so perhaps I’ll just use Nero .

You don’t say what version of windows you have (plus service pack, etc.), perhaps it is a windows thing on DVDs unless it also can’t recognise CDs either.

Fix your settings in Nero. If you set it up so that it will play on any computer, then you wouln’t have that problem any more.
If you leave it open or set it for the Nero compatible mode, then it will only work with Nero.
