I was and am hopeful that perhaps there is something that might be a more likely fix than installing and reinstalling the program. I thought that the forum could be a source of information that is not in the FAQs or other self-help available. The forum was my last resort, not my first; after so many years of working on computers, I understand that each machine can be different in equipment and installed software. I’ve had success with avast! on two of my own machines for awhile now; I am befuddled that it won’t work on a third machine. I will welcome any help because I don’t want to throw in the towel. Understandably, no software is perfect or all things to everyone, but avast! is too good to throw away. :slight_smile:
