I have avast pro internet security 5.0.677 installed on desktop and laptop. My desktop always shuts down after avast scan even with the “shutdown after the scan finishes” box not ticked. What can I do to stop this?
Note: my laptop has exactly the same settings as desktop but it doesn’t shut down?? Thankyou for any help.
Note: Have Vista on desktop and XP on laptop.
If you activate that option, I believe you get a countdown when the scan finished (and before the shutdown is initiated).
Do you get it as well, even without that option?
I don’t know if there is a countdown or not as I usually scan in the very early morning hours and then find desktop is shutdown but laptop still running. I will do a scan and try to find out if there is a countdown. Thanks for your reply.
OK just finished quick scan and after finish, windows logged itself off and then went into computer shutdown. Requires restart by pushing start on computer. There was no countdown or anything else happening, except avast found 1 virus. Any ideas why it would shut down? Thanks.
- What action did you take for this virus? Put it in the Virus Chest, Ask, Delete, No Action?
- What is the virus? Can you give us a screen shot or type it out for us with the file name as well?
