Hi - please can you help me before my laptop ends up being thrown out of the window!! I’m having problems with pages taking forever to load - this seems to be more apparent when there are multiple pages open. Also quite often it comes up with a blue screen with lots of jargon and ending with “beginning dump of physical memory”. I’d be very grateful if anyone can help with this and put me out of my laptop misery.

Hi you do not appear to have an antivirus, also the memory on the computer is a borderline minimum for XP

Be advised that when the fix commences it will shut down all running processes and you may lose the desktop and icons, they will return on reboot

Hi and thanks for your reply. Ive re-run the scan again and deleted the objects this time. I do have an anti-virus on my computer…i use Microsoft security essentials. Is this the best thing to be using on my computer?
I have now re run OTL with the fix and have attached the log - I really hope you guys can help with this?
this is the log after I ran the scan after the fix…sorry for the delay in posting it
Is it still slow ?
Download and run the system scanner on this page http://www.crucial.com/uk/systemscanner/ and it will tell you how much and what type of memory your system will take
RAM is fairly cheap nowadays and 2 Gb would make XP fly
Thanks for that…i shall do that in a mo. Yes it is still a tad slow…so you think the memory is the problem? What about my anti-virus? Is that a good enough one? Sorry for all the questions…as you can tell i am a complete novice at this diagnostic lark lol
What about my anti-virus? Is that a good enough one?On this forum there would only be one answer :) But if you only do mail and general light surfing then MSES is OK, if you use social sites then I would recommend Avast
The logs looked clean but 510Mb of RAM is asking for the system to run slow if more than one programme is open
In that case i shall take MSES off and put Avast on…is there anything else I can do to help the situation? I have now purchased more memory so fingers crossed that will do the trick! While i’m here i also have the same problem with my desktop pc…shall i run the same initial programmes on that and post them to you? It won’t be until tomorrow now though
Ah go on then … What problems is that experiencing ?
The same…but slower! Lol don’t have the memory issues though…well i don’t think do anyway haha
OK lets have a quick shufti at that one
Download OTL to your Desktop
