Computer suddnly slow but i have no virus?

Ok first off i’m a Newbie, so please be kind…

My computer is suddnely slow, windows take a super long time to open/close, the screensavor freezes, my mouse freezes, etc…

So I ran my trusty Avast anitvirus scanner (I have the free home version 4.6) and it came out clean!
I ran the following and everyone came up clean.
1.Ad-Aware SE Personal
2.Microsoft AntiSpyware
3.Spybot - Search & Destroy

I’m not sure what info u need but here’s a run down:
My avast protection is set to high. I have SpywareGuard, SpywareBlaster and a firewall.
I use windows XP sp2 and firefox.

I then took a look at my programs and did some clean-up but I still don’t know what is causing the sudden sluggishness.

Well I guess that I should note that the Microsoft Antispyware did flag the following but I have choosen to ignore these as I don’t think they pose a threat. I don’t think this program are spyware but hell i’m not sure now!?Has anyone else had problems with these:

1.MessengerPlus! Installer Software Bundler (2 signatures)
2.Messenger (912 signatures)

----Oh and can someone please tell me what the signatures mean?----------

PLEASE HELP ME!!!

MessengerPlus! installs spyware: a lop.com infection, if I remember correctly. You would be well advised to uninstall it from add/remove programs and then let MS AntiSpyware remove any entries it still finds. This may seem like a useful program, but it’s more trouble than it’s worth.

:slight_smile: I second Frank’s comments. Ad-Aware Experts ALWAYS
recommend uninstalling MessengerPlus and since you
probably have a hidden, serious spyware problem, I
strongly recommend you seek assistance from the
Ad-Aware Experts at www.landzdown.com !!
Therefore do NOT uninstall it without the guidence
of those Ad-Aware Experts since they have a recommended
procedure which they will guide you in IF you post a
logfile there .
