I love those instructions - a PC won’t boot at all and part of the recommended solution is to use a PC to burn a rescue disc.

It a welcome slap in the face to those who think disc media and the ability to burn and play them are anachronistic and an unnecessary facilities to have on a modern PC. But more importantly it again confirms what I’ve thought for a long time should be the number one rule for owning a PC: you should not own just one PC.

Most of the things that go wrong with computers can usually be fixed but only if you have or have access to another working PC and the internet.
