Alot of our clients this morning are having an issues with the new Avast 5. Some are getting BSOD and some won’t boot after upgrading to Avast! 5 Free. Is there a patch for this problem or does any one know how to fix it without reverting back to 4.8 or using another antivius???
What antvirus were on these computers before you installed avast 5?
Try removing the Behaviour Shield component and see if that fixes it, and report back.
Add/Remove programs, Avast, … Gives you the option somewhere to disable components.
Don’t believe the Behaviour Shield is to blame. In my case the tests during booting windows vista (32 bits) already caused windows to boot over and over again. However, disabling this boot tests didn’t solve the problem. So I’m afraid there’s something terribly wrong with avast 5…
