Heya guys!!
I’ve recently discovered Google Trends (after doing a search for XKCD), and today, I got curious.
It seems that things I am interested seems to have a growing thirst for knowledge of computer systems and how they work and stuff like that. Stuff like in the fields of programming/ coding, networking, modding, hacking (white-hat, in my interests), security, and other computing related topics.
So, I did a Google trends search (look at bottom of post, turns out the list is quite long):
And Wow!! I was amazed at how these trends have been dropping. All these back-end computing stuff … But I’m sure there are people still interested in all this stuff (like me). I’m actually going over many computing topics this summer (my friend is teaching me HTML, I’m reviewing A+ certification stuff, and I’m also reading up on hacking and debugging techniques).
Is anyone else surprised or even worried about all this? The future is in the cloud (which, trends indicate is going up thankfully), but for those who will manage and support them, I worry they will be low in number. Sure, that’s great for management and organization, but what if we really need them one day?
What are your thoughts on this, guys ?

The only things I’ve seen fairly stable is companies that have been involved in business things (like Microsoft, Apple, Intel, AMD, nVidia, ATI, and others of those sorts), though Microsoft is dropping. I have seen virtualization growing while developer and open source trends staying faily stable, though.
