Concerning redirect?

I was browsing Tumblr when suddenly a new Tab opened with this website

ht tp://virusd etection.com-one.net/us/index.p hp (spaces added 'cause I don’t want a direct link to something that may be a problem!)

with a digital voice going on about how Windows has detected a virus. Before it could even finish it’s sentence I immediately closed firefox and did a scan. It didn’t find anything, but I figured I’d run it by you folks since you guys are the experts.

Occurred with Windows 7 all updates applied, Firefox all updates applied.

Seems like a fake warning site …saying you have a infection and list a number to call

Thanks for the speedy response! I Assume I’m relatively safe then? Since avast found nothing and all? I don’t really know how to use those sites you linked, but I didn’t see it list anything TRULY malicious. (or I’m THAT bad at the internet and missed it! :V)

I don't really know how to use those sites you linked,
Depends what you mean by that?

Virustotal can check files for infections, or check urls against blacklists www.virustotal.com extra info found under the extra tabs there
Alternative www.metascan-online.com

You may run this and clear your browsers in case you have some crap there http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/

The safest way when you are not sure about malware is: go back to the last image of your OS-system.
It’s my way - I never try to delete malicious software; it takes too much time, and you never know what else is stored on your PC.

Well that may be your way …
We have trained and certified malware removers in the forum that does removal work for free if needed https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=53253.0

Using system restore and going back does not remove infections … at best it just disable it from starting but infection is still there. If only it was that easy

If you by image means a full restore to a clean image copy, well that is completely different

I don’t mean system restore functions from the OS. I store an OS-Image with Clonezilla after larger changes of my system. When I step back to the last or second last image malicious software is killed. That is faster and safer than trying to find all parts oft unwanted software.
