Concurrent connections limit for NewsMan Pro

I am using avast! version 4.8 Professional 4.8.1351 with Comodo Firewall version 3.11.108364.522 on a PC running Windows 7 Professional 64 bit version. I started my newsreader, Newsman Pro 3.0.2, and started to download headers when this error message popped up in the newsreader error log
== 8/29/2009 11:12:15 PM ==============================================
Module: WorkerThread
Source: WorkerThread.ConnectToServer: unlimited.newshosting.com
Connection failure: concurrent connections limit in avast exceeded(pass:0, processes:NewsMan.exe[20])

Error:Server return code: 502

This newsreader is set to open 20 connections to its news server. What do I need to change to allow these connections to go through.

A workaround would be edit avast4.ini, find the section [MailScanner], add (or edit) the line IgnoreProcess.

[MailScanner]
IgnoreProcess=Newsman Pro.exe
(put the name of the process correctly).

Do you use any other security program?

The workaround appears to have worked. I am able to get my newsreader to work correctly now. As to other security programs I have Spybot Search and Destroy, Spyware Blaster, and MalwareBytes installed. I have Windows Defender and Windows Firewall turned off. I have an available license for Webroot Spy Sweeper with Antivirus that I could install on this PC but have not decided if I want to install it.

But it’s not being scanned by the Mail scanner… you’ve make an exception.
