tks pondus but no way your link would load here… and i have a little prob named CONFICKER attacking 3 puters and 3 pendrives nonstop grrr

Try this link and see if that gets past confickers blocking.

By using an IP address rather than one based on the domain name based link it may get through the blocking, this works for other security sites, but you first have to find the IP address.

oh holy cow!
ive been bugged with that for a week and its not stoppable… at least on the small home network i was asked to give a lil hand with the matter.
i was starting to think i went really dumb to not be able to kill it.

about the articles, amazing how they talk about the damages but not at all about the ‘cure’ or proper solution for infected puters and devices. bitdefender and sophos already have their removal tools but they were simply useless - at least on my case - even to recognise the malware.

hope more info about how to deal with the infection will come out soon.

ty pondus DavidR and mkis for your links… really important to know its a worlwide issue.

ps: i have opened a threat about my issue in particular and will post there what happened since last week so you know wot worked or not at least on detection.

Here is a CNET post on malware removal that I picked at random. Puts the reader in place of person with computer infected with conficker virus. There are quite a few of these types of articles have been broadcast out through internet media.

http://download.cnet.com/8301-2007_4-10208734-12.html

Lots of different sides to conficker has come about as outcome of the malware saga running for probably near a year. Well, six months at least, with Microsoft coming on board late, my opinion, giving miscreants too good a run at what they were doing.

But the virus can normally be removed and network put back to running well with full protection.

Most of what you need to know what can be done is found in Avast forum. Having to work with network will mean that more planning is needed and removal will not be as straight forward as with a stand-alone computer.

Hi again and ty for ya post mkis

I aint sure about those so said removal tools… if there was sth really working, it would have been broadcasted all over the malware spaces on and off line.

Sure Im gonna check that link/tool and see if there will be any positive result, so I hope

Please, if you have time and courage, take a look at my initial thread about CONFICKER at http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=44319.msg371022#msg371022

From wot I read so far, theres a lot of especulation being broadcasted and no proper solution or diagnostic yet… sumone wanted to mess up with Windows… and they did it.

Thanks again and speak soon with better news

oopppppppps… pondus sorry!

I replied you hours ealier saying thanks a lot for extra info channels but… guess who didnt allow the post to pass thro??? ugh!

im eager for info and ty for sharing… but erm… at this moment, id love to read more about solutions  hehe]

tack tack
