I am running Avast 4.8 Home under Windows 7. I had heard or read somewhere that things need to be done to allow Avast to scan email for a person using Thunderbird. Can you advise the procedures that I need to follow, and setting that have to be configured, to allow Thunderbird and Avast to function together properly?
My ISP’s are Charter.Mi and Solucian Networking, and they are both POP/SMTP accounts.
I have a PC running avast! Home 4.8, Thunderbird 2.0.0.43 with email from both aim.com and terra.com.br (Brazilian webmail). Am wondering if this link posted by Pondus (http://mydigitalbath.wordpress.com/2008/04/06/howto-setup-thunderbird-with-avast-antivirus-2/) would be applicable. I’ve read through a few other posts in the forum and have not seen any reference to aim web mail nor any brazilian web mail.
The link that I’ve looked over, but it refers to Gmail accounts. So am not sure if the instructions for stunnel would apply for any other web based email directed into TB.
