i noticed a problem : i’m running avst v5 and online armor both last version .
When running for the first time application such as netwiewer, beclean or everest free. my pc freezes for 15 minutes till OA creates its rules… I’m not the only one to havre this problem (see here : http://support.tallemu.com/vbforum/showthread.php?t=12986 ) . It’s a really big problem.
The only way to make it work is disabling avast services when running the application for the first time (untill OA creates its rules) … not very smart !
Please consider my problem and find a fix quickly. Thank you :-\
What is your configuration? Your signature says you are running CIS3 and Avast! but your question is about OA. You can go to the OA Options/Exclusions and exclude the entire Avast!5 folder from OA monitoring. And go to avast! settings/exclusions and exclude OA there. Does that help?
Did you have this problem with prior builds of OA?
Did you upgrade or do a clean install of OA? Did you let OA go through the Learning Mode if you did a clean install?
Was Avast an upgrade or a clean install?
Do you have both OA and Avast as exclusions?
When you got the pop up of Avast in the OA window, did you click “Trust” and “Allow” after rebooting your machine when OA either upgrading itself or you did a clean install?
Check in under OA Programs to make sure that ALL of Avast’s features are Trusted. If not, right click on them and fix them.
As a last resort, you may want to do a clean install of OA and Trust All during the Safety Wizard, let the program do its Learning Mode (don’t touch or click on anything during this time) to relearn your software. Remember to reboot TWICE with OA after installation.
The lastest build of OA is 45. Are you keeping your updates in Manual mode or something else? If you take it out of Manual/once a day, etc., once you reboot, it will UPGRADE itself to build 45. Reboot twice again. Set your settings and see if this resolves your problems.
Also, make sure the date and time on your PC is correct as this will mess things up.
I trusted avast in oa . The responsible of the bug is oa hips + avast file shied . other shield are ok.
I will finally go back to comodo FW v4 which works very well with avast! i’m fed up rebooting my pc and will maybe give anothertry to OA later… if the bug is fixed 8)
