Confused about avastUI.exe

On my third visit today to a particular site I suddenly go the pop-up that Avast Free v 5.0.594 told me that web shield had blocked the file avastUI.exe
I goggled the file name and one site said that it is a part of the Avast program, another said it was a “nasty” of some kind (Sorry, I can’t rember what kind - see my sign in name).
It only seems to happen with the one specific site.
Up to now I have been blocking it.
Is it a nasty, or part of Avast that I need to allow.

Thanks in advance for advice/info

Can you post that webpage URL so we can check it out? Make sure to replace http:// with hxxp:// so the link won’t be live.

Well we certainly need more information as RejZoR asked as a) the web shield doesn’t block but scans and alerts to infection (so are you saying that is what it did ?) and b) the avastUI.exe is a local file and even if it made a connection (to retrieve info for the summary screen ad) the web shield isn’t scanning outbound content.

Using the avastUI, Real-Time Shields, Web Shield and click the Show Report file and copy and paste the info of this if it is a detection.

The web site was hxxp://www.nlpweekly.com/index.php?action=forum. I have just been to the site a few minutes ago, and all is well now.

My suspision is that it was a firewall glitch.

This is the last few days report which doesn’t show anything untoward - at least to my uneducated eye.
My thanks to you both for your input to my non technically generated panic,
