I’m going through http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=25502.0 but I’m a bit confused. I went to http://www.virustotal.com, and uploaded the file, and the message I got was something like “been there, done that so forget it”. This is the URl to the previous report: http://www.virustotal.com/file-scan/report.html?id=ea4bf07d32467feb4d4c9e9dea031fecee8af2bbd740257998e07163f0cbcd96-1293528339 What do I do about that?
The VirusTotal report you link to show that the file is clean…or it is a very new bug that none detect yet
So what is the problem, do you have a file that is detected by avast! or one that you feel should be detected ?
So what are you saying? That it’s infected, or it isn’t? I got the impression from that report that it is known to cause false positives.
The file is from nVidia, and it’s one of the install files for my graphics card, which is why I’m pretty sure it’s safe, unless it was infected after it was unzipped, but I find that very hard to believe. Its status is Win32:Malware-gen, so I have no idea which trojan or whatever it is.
It’s not infected. It was a FP and has been fixed already…!!

So it should not be detected if your avast! is updated ?
