Confused about warning

I was transferring some data files that I put on DVD’S and I got the Yellow banner across my task bar saying something about the file contains samples of one of the W32 worm or Trojan ( I forgot exactly which one it was ) This happened 2 times on different files, the first time I just deleted the file from my hard drive, the next ones I scanned the folder with Avast and it didn’t find anything.

Why would I get a warning while transferring but then once it was transferred Avast didn’t find anything???

Have you checked the Virus Chest of avast to see what might be in the Infected files section?

Not so sure… did you delete the file? Why would you expect it come back again?
If it is coming back, maybe a recurrent infection and then I suggest a boot time scanning.
