(Apologies if this has been reported before, I did not find anything using the search function, but keywords for this are not easy to get right).
My version:
avast free 12.3.2280 (build 12.3.3154.23)
Problem:
the details of a running scheduled scan are not displayed when clicking “details” button if a different scan type was selected prior to the start of the scheduled scan
Description:
I have avast set up to run a scheduled weekly scan, which I call “weekly full”.
When this scan starts, the program creates a small window above the tray area:

Clicking the “Details” button should produce details of that scan. However, if the user has run a different type of scan at any time between the last scheduled scan and this scheduled scan, it will instead show that manually selected scan type:

As you can see, there is no indication whatsoever that there is a scheduled scan being executed at the time.
The correct “details” screen + progress indication is only shown once the user selects the correct scan from the dropdown menu:

In my opinion, this is very counter-intuitive.
When it happened the first time I incorrectly assumed the scan had already finished (in record time).
The next time I thought maybe something is broken and the scan does not trigger at all.
I would suggest that this GUI behavior be modified so that users aren’t left in the dark as to whether their scheduled scan is actually running.
