Good idea! I’ll give that a go ;D
Ok that was interesting. I uninstalled Chrome and restarted and then found I had a very similar problem with IE. I would open in, go to click on the address box and the all the top drop-downs (File, Edit, etc) would grey out. I could then not get a response from any part of the browser - not the buttons or the page itself.
To get it to un-grey I had to alt-tab to it, but then when I clicked the box again the drop-downs would grey out. The only way I could fix it was to open task manager and manually end the iexplore.exe process.
After that I restarted IE and it seems to be working again.
Any thoughts??
Oh, I’ve also noticed something like this happening today on the startup window of Diablo 3. I don’t know if you’re familiar with it or not, but it has that typical pre-startup Blizzard box where you have to press ‘play’ before the game opens in full screen. A couple of times the ‘play’ button has just stopped working!
I’m starting to think this is the same issue?
Based on the data provided in the logs this may well be a system problem. I can use a stronger tool but I do not believe it will find anything

Thanks.
Here’s the log!
A little adware, nothing else is chrome still misbehaving ?
Yes, I just reinstalled it and it’s still not working. I click on tabs and they close and I can’t open my settings
Yet FF and IE are working with no problem ? This would indicate that there is a chrome conflict somewhere. Unfortunately I do not and never have used chrome
I’ve restarted a couple of times and so far Chrome and IE and Windows in general are working ok!
I’ll give it another few hours and let you know how it goes
Hi guys,
Just wanted to let you know that I’ve figured out what the problem is. It was a Logitech wireless mouse that I had plugged into my laptop! I’ve used it for years but for some reason recently either the drivers or the mouse itself is causing issues with Windows and for some reason, Google Chrome!
It was hard to pick up because it doesn’t always cause issues and also, even though I’m usually using it, I don’t always.
Since I’ve stopped using it, the problem has gone away altogether.
Thanks heaps for your help guys,
Dave
