connecting endpoint clients to small office administration

Hi,

I am considering replacing our current av vendor to Avast, so I dowloaded and installed the
Small office administration program and installed an endpoint client on my workstation from
the admin server, that was activated as trial.

Now, i cant connect to the small office administration from the andpoint client.
On the config, i have the corrct ip and default port(25322) of the admin server and i can telnet it,
but the avast is trying to connect the internet for updates.
Few qustions :
How can i connect endpoints clients to the admin server?
How can i update the admin server manually?
How can i push updates from the servers to managed endpoints?

Thanks in advance for any help…

Hi, while this is not answering your questions…
…as you want to switch, I’d suggest to check out AFB: https://www.avast.com/avast-for-business

Thank you for your reply.

Does the Avast for Business Basic Antivirus is like the Free Antivirus Essential for personal use?
does it have any costs?
Can i connect it to some kind of admin console?

Info & FAQ: https://support.business.avast.com

Thank you for the link…

I installed the the AFB after uninstalling our previous software and I will give it a try for a week or two.
I couldnt find in the faq or in the license agreament the number of computers i can install the AFB on - where
can I find that information?

  1. You’re welcome.
  2. As many as you want/need. (If you use one of the paid versions you get charged per device.)

Thanks again for all your help!

Ok, now we taken care of our internet lan and i want to proceed with another lan we have
Which does not have any access to the internet, so i will return to my original questions :

  1. How can i connect endpoints clients to the admin server?
  2. How do i update the admin server manually?
  3. How do i push updates from the servers to managed endpoints?

As you’re testing AFB now, I’d suggest to continue here: https://forum.avast.com/index.php?board=65.0

I am using AFB on one of our lan’s and it’s ok for now.
For another lan which can’t connect to the internet I think that I will need another solution since
it seems that the AFB can’t work offline - am i right?
