I am using Avast Free AntiVirus 2015 on a Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 desktop computer. Occasionally although rarely when I check Settings > Update I notice a message stating that the connection has not been established. On rebooting the system the connection is established.
Is there a way of re-establishing the connection without rebooting? Is this a glitch during my system bootup when there might be additional load on resources due to, for example, my firewall software updating, or is it a temporary problem with the Avast server?
Any comments and advice would be welcome, thank you.
There are more reports from users ( including myself ) who have/had such problem.
It seems to be related to the Avast! streaming update server(s).
So be patient, and see if it is solved in a few days
My says connection not established but my streaming updates is working now. I did a repair of my avast free and rebooted. Still it says connection not established. It must be a issue/server problem from Avast.
It’s reassuring to see I am not alone with this issue and that the problem is not with my system. It is only a minor bugbear and seems easily overcome if not completely resolved. So far I am not sure if this happens only during bootup or can happen at any time during a session. Since reporting I have had no further incidents.
Don’t worry Kesetyan! You are not alone. Just couple of hours ago my connection was again disconnected and got reconnected and got some more streaming updates. This might change from time to time. It’s an issue with the Avast servers.
Have this issue as well. Connection keeps dropping, not receiving any streaming updates. Wish they would just fix this already, or at least permanently… it seems the connection dies around the same time for the past 4-5 days now, stays dead and then comes back the next day, only to fail again.
Not sure what’s going on but I wish at least someone from the staff could tell us.
I’m sure avast is working to fix this issue. I’m also sure avast doesn’t like to have server issues any more than anyone else.
