Connection problems using The Bat email software

Hi,

I am a new user of Avast4.7 and am having difficulty receiving my emails through The Bat program. I have an always on Broadband connection and connect intially OK, the log from The Bat tells me that there are x messages in the mailbox and then I get this error message:

Connection to host broken (last commands sent were UIDL, RETR 1)

By closing the Avast Internet Mail provider, I can then get my emails OK. Does anyone know if I should be configuring this in any special way or should I be using the Avast Plug-in for The Bat instead? Can’t find anything on this subject on The Bat website and a Google search on the error message gives me nothing that has worked so far.

avast has an special plugin for The Bat!
You can go Control Panel > Add/Remove programs > avast antivirus > Change/Remove
Then chose to change your installation and click for The Bat plugin.

Thanks for that! I had noticed that The Bat had an Avast Antivirus plug-in and had installed it but it made no difference. Now that I have changed my Avast installation as you advised, no more problems! I didn’t realise that I had to install the plug-ins to both programs! Problem quickly solved for me!
