Hi there I use PSI…at times on it fails to connect to its server since it’s supposed to run on startup…& turns the modem light to red…how can one check the DNS IP of Secunia………or any solution to this??

Use the ping command from a command window, “ping secunia.com” without the quotes.
See image, whilst this shows unreachable the ping is coming back.
There is no way I would run PSI on boot, what is the point, this is a tool that I would run periodically rather than on boot.

On my Windows 7 system I let PSI start on boot and it works OK but on my XP Pro system I do not let it start at boot as it uses too much system resources so I start it manually when I remember.
What does PD, CMTD, Hep C! mean?
I had it running on boot on my XP System, and I worked well and didn’t slow down the PC.

Having PD CMTD & Hep C in your signature does not help the helpers offer pertinant hints though.

It depends on the user’s system performance as to how much impact PSI has at boot up.
I think it is an invaluable tool, the biggest thing I would suggest to you is choose the file type according to what you are capturing and where it will be displayed. Just compare the two images mine and yours, for file size, image size and quality. For display on web sites the .gif is a much smaller file size (good for those on dial-up) for the same image size and the quality is more than good enough for the purpose. The other one is to be more selective on the area you capture, effectively cropping to only that which is needed for the purpose.
I have been using it for many years now and I find it relatively easy to use as I use it quite a lot. However, this was now always the case, the version 9 virtually turned everything from the other versions on their head and took a bit to get used too.
