Avast is causing WMI Provider Host (WmiPrvSE.exe) High CPU Usage, running around 10%.
Anyone have any ideas why?
I am running Windows 8.1.
Thanks,

Which Avast…? (Free/Pro/IS/Premier)
Avast Internet Security
Which version…?
18.8.2333
Other security related software installed…?
Malwarebytes, Superantispyware
Which AV(s) did you use before Avast…?
Have always used it (for years), as well as the other two.
This constant 10% cpu load probably started in the last few months.
If I look at the processes in the Task Manager, WMI Provider Host sits at about 10% CPU time. I remember that it used to be much lower when the computer was idle.
When I bring up the event viewer and look at Applications and Services Logs Microsoft > Windows > WMI-Activity Operational, select an error in the list, find it’s ClientProcessId,
then look it up in the Task Manager Processes tab, it points to avast! Antivirus.
