Constant refreshing of Page / Safe Browser

When switching back and forth to another tab using Avast Safe Browser, it wants to refresh each page thus changing the page you were just looking at. How can you stop this. If your using Facebook, it’s totally annoying and ridiculous. I have to “right click” open up in a “new stealth window” in order for it to stop refreshing the page. I would like to simply open up in new tab, but each time you use another tab, it refreshes the existing tab, changing everything. Anyone know how to correct this?

I think your issue is the same here:

Hopefully Avast devs become aware. ???

Yes, it is ! That is just what is happening to me.

Has been reported to Avast

The constant refreshing of pages has meant I have lost information and had to start again. For example, just now I was sent a partial password to my e-mail address for a bank account, but when I returned to the tab for the bank, it refreshed the page so I had to begin the process again. My only solution is to go back to my old browser. How does this get reported to Avaast and how do we know if / when it will be fixed?

You’ll hear back once Avast replies or, if Avast responds on the forum. This is the weekend so highly doubt I’ll hear anything today.

I personally can’t reproduce the problem and Avast can’t either. Have you modified any settings?

Thanks for your reply. No I’ve not changed any settings, whatever that may be. If it were just my settings, why are other people having the same problem? What setting might it be and how could I change it? Sorry I’m not good at computer things. I’ve only just worked out I had a reply! Thought I had set up an e-mail notice that I have replies but clearly I haven’t managed to as I just searched the topic again to find your reply.

Avast Team Member BWhit provided a solution here (same topic schmidthouse linked to in Reply # 1) but this is found on page 2: https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=222016.msg1480425#msg1480425

Ive made the recommended changes and found all tabs to be loaded and have content in them after making the changes. Issue may be related to reducing memory usage on less robust systems when ASB is running but could also be related to SSD software set to use system memory to speed up system response (AKA Samsung RAPID Mode) making it appear system memory is limited.

Anyway, all tabs are loaded and ready to use now. No issue.
