Constant warnings about blocked attacks from harmful sites

Hey there,

New to the forums and Avast! as well.

I’ve had it for little over a month now and just these past two weeks I’ve been getting non-stop warnings whenever I run Chrome. Only Chrome. It’s my preferred search engine of choice so I’ve been trying to figure out what I can do to stop these.

These are what keep popping up:

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

edit Added Log attachments for further assitance.

Not sure why, but I can not load any avast forum website on my computer now. I am using my cell which would not load the site either while connected to our wifi but works fine without…

So nothing works when connected to your WiFi ?

Re-install Chrome

Unless you did this yourself, malware has changed your Chrome version into the Development Build. Among other things this allows malware to install any extension it wants. We need to resolve this.

  1. If you have bookmarks, let’s save them by exporting them - Export Bookmarks
  2. Then I need you to go Google Sync and sign into your account
  3. Scroll down until you see the “Stop and Clear” button and click on the button. At the prompt click on “Ok”
  4. Now we need to uninstall chrome via control panel.
Note: When asked about user data or settings you must remove this also so please check the box.
  5. Restart the computer and reinstall chrome, You can download The latest version from here - Google Chrome
  6. Import your bookmarks back into Chrome
  7. Sign back in to your Chrome browser so that your bookmarks sync with your online account.

THEN

CAUTION : This fix is only valid for this specific machine, using it on another may break your computer

Open notepad and copy/paste the text in the quotebox below into it:

Save this as fixlist.txt, in the same location as FRST.exe

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/73555776/FRSTfix.JPG

Run FRST and press Fix
On completion a log will be generated please post that

It’s working today.

I did put myself in Developer Mode under Extensions to try and see where the source of these random extensions were located in my computer, but I couldn’t find the file myself.

Should I still reinstall chrome?

Also, I do not see “Stop and Clear”
I see “Reset Sync”

Yes reset chrome as it is an open door to bad extensions

Then run the FRST fix

Once that has completed let me know what problems remain

Everything is done. So far, so good.
Here is the log!

Subject to no further problems

I will remove my tools now and give some recommendations, but, I would like you to run for 24 hours or so and come back if you have any problems

Now the best part of the day ----- Your log now appears clean
