how do i contact Avast by email?
First, I’m an Avast user and not an Avast Team member.
As far as I’m aware there isn’t a direct email contact, issues are generally handled via internet support at https://support.avast.com .
What is the problem and I will try to point you in the right direction ?

Hi DavidR. Thank for reaching out. I have been a customer of Avast for many years. In the past they used to be reachable by email, so one could take up any issue with them easily and precisely. Now you are sent through a maze of support pages, which basically are confusing and sometimes even circuitous and make it impossible to find the solution you need. Take my recent case …. I accepted driver updater on trial, but refused subscribing when I was notified that the trial period was due to expire. Amazingly, my card was charged and the service subscription installed regardless. I now want to unsubscribe and get a refund. How to get there without email?
When you take out a trial, as far as I’m aware you have to agree to the subscription mandate and uninstall it and cancel that before the end of the trial period or the charge would be made automatically. This may have been what happened.
You didn’t mention what Avast Antivirus Program you are running ?
** Refund request
- NOTE you should first cancel any payment mandate (see below) that you may have set up, or this could be actioned, requiring another refund request.
- From Avast account - https://support.avast.com/article/24/#pc
** Cancelling automatic renewal of the Avast subscription -
See https://support.avast.com/article/account-unsubscribe/#pc
The above are generally related to the Main installation of the Avast Antivirus Program, but in your Avast Account there should be a record of all subscriptions. Unless you used a different email address to that of your main
Hi DavidR.
· Re your “When you take out a trial, as far as I’m aware…”. Yes, that’s what happened. But when Avast notified me that the trial period was due to expire they did not indicate “..uninstall it and cancel that before the end of the trial period or the charge would be made automatically”.
· Re your “…what Avast Antivirus Program you are running”, that program is Avast Premium Security Multi device. Current subscription runs to July 13, 2026. I will probably cancel it before then, and go for Windows Defender or another anti-virus product which is more customer friendly.
· What I took on trial was Avast Driver Updater. This subscription now runs to March 2027. I am so upset by this incident, that I simply want to cancel it and ask for a refund. If I understand you correctly, I must first cancel the subscription, and afterwards ask (or try to ask) for a (pro-rata) refund. Please confirm.
Once again, thanks so much for your help.
That is how I understand it, certainly for the main Avast Program you are running. However as an Avast Antivirus Free user I’m not troubled by this so my experience/information has been gather on this Community Forum.
The danger is being left with an active subscription when you no longer have the main program and how you would access your Avast account.
I’m not sure if this applies to additions to the main program if you can just cancel the payment mandate for the subscription for the Avast Driver Updater. Also how to seek a refund for the additional Avast Driver Update add-on
I would suggest logging in to your Avast Account either via the Avast Premium Security program or via id.avast.com From here you should be able to track what programs you have installed, subscriptions etc.
You will then have a better idea of layout, the different Avast programs and subscriptions you have than I have.
