Submiting a malware from the popup (submit undetect sample option) of this web page: http://www.avast.com/pt-br/contacts, is the same thing that submit by email to “virus AT avast DOT com” ?
If not, whats better to the lab team? Receive by email or by the contact form?
To submit by the form, do I need to zip the malware and put a password on it (as we do submitting by email email)?
Thanks for your time!
Ps–> Just a suggestion… If you guys would like to estimulate people to submit undetected malware from the contact form, I think you should put it on a more visible place, like the home (at least a shortcut from there). Usually the information about submitting by email is not available to everybody (normally only for the forum visitors) and zip a file and put a password on it, could create additional steps that would confuse members that are not tech smarts, or just make them lazy to submit the file…
Good that I dont need to zip before submit by the contact form.
I only submit by the chest when the computer already has a malware that was not detected by avast and is detected by other anti malware. So I add to chest and submit.
However, in 99% of the time, I submit from my android cell (to avoid mis infection in my laptop). I usually receive by email, so I download intentionally the malware file from the email and test against the avast online scanner. If Avast misses, I submit to them by email ,zipping the file and putting a password on it.
Using the contact form will accelerate the process to me, as its a little boring make the zip and submit by email on a cell phone…
hehehe… After getting my android cell, my life has changed… heheheeh
Theres is an android app, called androzip that can zip files (and even put a password on it). So I am able to submit by email to avast.
So I keeping checking my email to find some malwares (usually trojan bankers that are detected as malware-gen after I submit), so I will be able to submit to avast as soon as possible.
I wish to receive more malware samples… But I only got 5 to 8 each month…
