I am using Avast Premier on Windows 7…
How do I set Avast from not scanning at startup–I believe it may have corrupted my User Profile twice already?
And for that matter, have OTHER Avast users suspected the program (at anytime) to have corrupted their
User Profile in Windows?
If so, how did you manage to resolve the matter?
Thanks in advance for any feedback!
The only scanning that avast does during start-up is a rootkit scan
which is automatically ran eight minutes after boot. The only other
possibility is a boot scan which must be “scheduled” by the user
prior to shut-down.
As far as a corruption, how do you know it’s avast?
Do you have a screenshot?
Any other security software you have now or ever had?
Firewall? Anti-spyware? Previous antivirus?

I also have Malwarebytes Anti-Malware on my system…
An administrator on another forum strongly suspects that Avast is the culprit screwing up my User Profile log-on
(“User profile failed the log-on…” etc.)

The Farbar scan results are attached…
Avast will not corrupt the user profile but, you are showing errors when writing the SID
Run chkdsk as per this post http://www.w7forums.com/threads/how-to-use-chkdsk-check-disk.448/

Thanks for that observation; will definitely run chkdsk!!!
Let me know if the problem recurs after the check disc and I will dig a bit deeper

I ran chdsk “fix” from the command prompt, but the scan report flipped by too fast into the boot-up for me to see the results, e.g., was a SID writing error fixed…
Should I run Farbar again and post those scan results here, to confirm (or not) the fix of any SID writing error(s)?
If chkdsk was run then all you can do at the moment is wait to see if the profiles gets corrupted again… Is it only one profile that his happens on ?

It happened on only the one User Profile I had…
Wait, wouldn’t another scan by Farbar report whether I was still getting SID writing errors?
Have you rebooted since the chkdsk ? If so then run another FRST and include the additions

Thanks - I’ll run (& report) these scans tonight, as I must leave home for awhile…
Did the 2nd Farbar scans still report those SID writing errors as still present?
No they were not yet present but there were a few system errors that need repair
