Convinced me or I will leave avast !

Hi people !

I hope I had not posted somewhere wrong, but I did not found a place related to my problem.
First of all… I will tell you something, so you can understand why I have to be convinced.

  1. The upgrade from an free edition to an PRO edition.
    a. I had used avast for a long time(free edition) and I like avast… why ? the protection modules and the boot time scan. I can say that avast is an good protection but you still have to work with the “erase” module…
    which had failed… last time I remember… when I catch a cold(a strong one) and I had to ERASE all me hard-drive… ( windows format tools… was not enough )
    b. I hate the your pop ups… which announced me that I am going to lose my protection if I do not upgrade my FREE av…ast. Why you do so ?? Is this an FREE AV… or NOT ?
    c. The upgrade is not about money… is about what will do the PAID AV to my PC !? I do not want to pay… for another PRO edition of an AV, and to get the same experience I had with karspersky or with panda. The
    last one was a disaster… after two months I could not use my PC no more… games, programs, everything was an potential virus… even a song, a movie, the player was “corrupt”… “we have to stop it for
    you’re protection”. I think you know the game Warcraft III - Frozen Throne !?.. well that program used an invisible module which can be exploited by an nasty virus… so we have to close it down. Well that WAS
    enough ! I’M NOT give it up my music, my games or my the other programs which make an PC to an useful tool… for any better or guaranteed protection.
    d. So… you people, you who “forced me”… through you’re pop ups… to buy the PRO edition of avast… can YOU guarantee that… the PRO Edition of Avast will not take control ?

  2. Convince me !
    a. On-line transactions… protection ! HoW ?
    b. Protection data… HoW ?
    c. Explain it… and convince me that the PRO edition of your AV will NOT do the same… what the Panda was done to MY PC !

  3. Leave avast forever…
    a. If you do not convinced me… to upgrade the free av for an reasonable purpose related to my wishes…

    PS : tell me nothing and give it up with you’re recommendation to upgrade… leave me alone… I just wanna fell and enjoy my PC !

you do not have to upgrade if you do not want to.... avast free is free....but you have to register again once a year.....
I can say that avast is an good protection but you still have to work with the "erase" module..

I’m sorry but you were not “forced” in any way to upgrade to the Pro version. The Vista machine here is using the free version and never gets any popups about upgrading or losing protection at all.

Why would you need to give up your games or music?
Did you “completely” remove any other anti-virus software? If you did how was it uninstalled?
It sounds as if you have conflict of software.

Also if you have SpyBot S&D disable the tea timer. :slight_smile:
