If the Cookie Misfortune vulnerability is real, any chance that Home Network Security will scan for this?

To be honest with you. I have never heard of this vulnerability. As for as I can tell and understand what it said about those two links and especially the second link I had that modem couple of years ago and now I have a brand new one. They gave it to me for free. Considering any network vulnerability hacks/attacks if you have your computer Operating system fully updated via Microsoft Update and fully updated antivirus software, and having an modem with the latest firmware updates your computer will be not vulnerable to any attacks. As for as Home Network Security detecting this vulnerability that I don’t know. Also about what type of firewall you want to use it’s up to you. If you have Avast (paid version), it’s firewall should be all okay. If you have the Avast Free program running Windows own firewall should be okay as well… I suggest that you don’t install any third party firewall, because it makes most users especially beginners confusing and etc.

FYI: Not having your computer fully updated, not having your antivirus software fully updated, not having an updated modem and with an old firmware will cause network based attack and your computer vulnerable to malware attacks in which then it can transfer a co-ordinated network based attack to all users.
