Core Server 2008 running avast!

Has anyone else got this to work? Here is what one customer did:

System was in a “server” goup in SOA configured for File System Shield only, and would NOT push deploy:

“During the manual install “avast_managed.exe” was complaining that it was missing oledlg.dll. So I looked on my regular Windows 2008 R2 DC and found oledlg.dll in both C:\Windows\System32 and in C:\Windows\SysWOW64. I put a copy of oledlg.dll in those same locations on my Core server. I then tried installing again and it worked. The console shows it to be green and connected running the one File System Shield.”

The console is necessary in this configuration. This does NOT work every time.

An uninstall must be performed from the console. J.R.

actually with the new setup of server 2012, running the AV without graphical interface is getting really much more important. The GUI is just something you have to choose to install, server 2012 is created for remote management more then for local GUI management.
