Corrupted Download Errors

Hello guys,

I have got strange problem in my pc. I have fully updated Xp 64 bit Pro, IE8, Chrome, Avast 5 Free. For a long time i cannot download and install anything because my OS says ‘’ file is corrupted ‘’ or during the install, the installer cannot find a file and says me ‘’ Abort , Ignore, Retry ‘’ I receive the same problem with Chrome too. I would like to solve this problem without format. What can i do? ???

First you should check you drives for errors.

See if updating Windows Installer helps. I believe v4.5 is the latest for XP.

I could not dowload the installer but i copied it from another pc and installed the update but i got the same problem.

Please go to PROFILE then Modify Profile then Forum Profile Information then select your country in Please select your country: then update your Signature: with information like my signature.

Bad news :frowning: I did drive check and it didn’t find anything. And i still have the problem.

Did you check your system for malware lately? If not, do so!

I checked it with avast, MBAM and trend micro online scanner. No problem

OK i checked my pc with it and result is : no infection

Ok, you checked your drives for errors, checked windows installer and made sure you’re not infected…
Hmmm…?? I have to admit, I’m running out of ideas. :frowning:
Do you think it’s related to avast at all?

I unistalled avast and other softwares but i still had the problem. I had to format my pc because i need to download and run softwares without copying them from other computers. It was very strange problem now everything is ok.
