Corrupted Password

I’ve seen this issue all over the support boards, but wanted to chime in that I too have had Avast corrupt my password. I am running on a rooted, Galaxy S phone running Cyanogen 7.2. I was able to uninstall using Titanium Backup, but am very disappointed with the App & am happy that I wasn’t locked out of my phone. Perhaps I will try it again when the bugs are worked out.

There is no bug on the password or PIN management.
Over 6 million users will be blaming avast! if there is such problem.
Most probably the problem is elsewhere… I myself have a Galaxy Nexus rooted without problem with avast!

I was using a password combination that I have used for 20 years. I KNOW that it was entered correctly. Twice. I’m guessing that there is an issue with either the hardware or the ROM build that causes corruption on certain user’s phones. Just because it doesn’t affect the entire install base doesn’t make it any less of a bug.

If it helps, password in the avast! meaning is a 6 digit only key.
In the new version of AMS - soon - we’ll see the word “password” and the word PIN (for the numeric code only).

To be clear, when I say password, I mean the 4-6 digit # Anti-theft requires. I entered a 4 digit # which Avast then would not recognize and let me back in. Look, I’ve uninstalled the product, I was just trying to give you guys a heads-up. I see that others have had similar problems, so I do not believe this to be user error.

Thank you. I’m not excusing myself, just trying to help.
