Could I get some help removing Extutil and Managera

I have attached the recommend text files. If someone could help me remove Extutil and Managera so it doesn’t continue to pop up I would be very appreciative. for some reason the Avast Rootkit scan keeps crashing, so I hope it is possible to figure this out with what I have attached.

Thank you.

You forgot to answer the question

Greetz, Red.

You still have an outstanding question from:

Which browser is this in ?

If it is in Chrome, some infections require additional actions, hence the question from essexboy.

AdwCleaner Report

My apologies. I didn’t see the browser question. It is in Chrome.

No problem, if my reading of this question by essexboy is correct you may need to uninstall Chrome otherwise this could be back - but wait for confirmation from essexboy.

He is off-line for the night it is after 00:15am in the UK right now - he should be back on-line later today to continue.

okay. Thank you.

I assume you are still getting the alert then…

First export your Chrome bookmarks to a desktop file just in case

THEN :

1.Click the icon that looks like three stacked lines at the top right of the browser window. …
2.Select ‘Settings’ in the drop-down menu. …
3.Click on ‘Show advanced settings’ at the bottom of the Web page. …
4.Select ‘Reset browser settings’ at the bottom of the page.

Are the alerts still present ?

So far so good. I’ll let you know if anything changes. Do you have any idea where this came from and why it is so brutal to remove?

Thank you for your help.

Unfortunately Chrome is now becoming very vulnerable to this type of attack, as to where it came from I am not sure. When you are happy let me know and I will tidy up

The “funny” thing about this issue is that Avast comes with Chrome bundled…
If you accept installation of the bundled Chrome, the problem occures, and only then, it seems.
…so what does this tell us?

What it tells you is to do a custom install and only check the options that you want - chrome isn’t bundled as such, but the option is opt-out rather than opt-in, which I disagree with.

Exactly!
I installed Avast on a fresh Windows 8.1, and forgot to opt-out the Chrome. The problems started.
Re-installed Windows and Avast without Chrome. Installed Chrome separately. No problems…
…it certainly tells me something…

I’ve had no notifications all day. It looks like your advice is correct and I very much appreciate your time.

Sincerely

Subject to no further problems

I will remove my tools now and give some recommendations, but, I would like you to run for 24 hours or so and come back if you have any problems

Now the best part of the day ----- Your log now appears clean

: Keep Java Updated :

WARNING: Java is the #1 exploited program at this time. The Department of Homeland Security recommends that computer users disable Java
See this article

I would recommend that you completely uninstall Java unless you need it to run an important software.
In that instance I would recommend that you disable Java in your browsers until you need it for that software and then enable it. (See How to diasble Java in your web browser and How to unplug Java from the browser)

If you do need to keep Java then download JavaRa
Run the programme and select Remove Java Runtime. Uninstall all versions of Java present
Once done then run it again and select Update Java runtime > Download and install Latest version
