Couple of Questions

Just downloaded the latest Avast! free! No problems so far in installing custom but need some questions answered as I used to have Avast! v 6. Great work Avast!

Question 1. Account Settings: Current Status Disconnected. This installation of avast is currently not connected with any avast account. Connect now.

What is it and do I REALLY need it? Is it in some way connected to streaming updates?

Question 2. Windows Defender is on. Do Avast! and Windows Defender co-exist nicely or do I have to disable WD?

Installed shields: File System Shield - Web Shield - Network Shield - Script Shield - Behavior Shield.

Win 7-64 bit, Windows Firewall, Avast! free. MBAM and SAS on demand only.

Thanks Pondus! So Account Settings has nothing to do with streaming updates? From the link you posted I didn’t quite get it what it is for.

As for Windows Defender, I will leave it on then if it plays nicely with Avast!

The account thing is basically to ensure that all your systems are updated - if you have more than one and want to check when you are elsewhere ;D
