avast! has given a warning on this several times: “File: system32\drivers\volsnap.sys Rootkit: Win32:Alureon-PS” and recommends that I remove it and every time I’ve clicked remove. Afterwards when I scan it with avast! and Malwarebytes they find the file clean.
After the fix on OTL the filetype’s became visible after the filenames (textfile.txt, magazine.pdf etc.) though I had chosen to hid them, although I doubt this is relevant.
