CPU usage/spikes??

Hi All,
well, I thought I cured it yesterday,but nada,
Im getting “CPU/usage-spikes” as-it-were [my CPU-Meter spikes at 100%, in 2-5sec- intervals as I go to different sites,
then drops to 20-30%],
when using the net with Firefox,
anyone else getting this?
any suggestions on how to track it down?
is there a solution?, oris it just the web-browsers using more
“java-advertising” that could be causing it?
should I try another Browser?
any Ideas would be appreciated!!

PS Im Using Windows-7 64bit w/sp3/Avast_pro-registered.

  • Which AV did you use before avast!..??

Avast Internet Security PRO Registered/latest version 7.01426 [I dnld, and Installed yesterday.]
Latest version.
Core-2 duo 3.4/with 8GB Ram.
Windows-7 Home Premium 64bit/sp-3
Ive always used Avast!!

  1. That’s not possible, you either have IS or Pro…! :wink:
  2. There’s no SP3 for W7…!! Please recheck.

These might count,Im not sure?
I Installed these 2-days ago;
1.CleanmyPC
2.Ashampoo “Winoptimizer” suite.
3.Ashampoo “Core tuner-2”.
ALL Registered Versions.

which one might be to blame I dont know[if any?]
after I Installed those is when I got the “CPU-spikes”
when cruising the net.

Ouch,that was a chunk of change thrown away,oh my,
oh-well, if it doesnt change any thing, I can always reinstall,
