Cqphone.exe is giving a false positive
If you are getting a virus warning that you believe is a false positive, then if you can zip and password protect (‘virus’, will do) the suspect file and send it to virus @ avast.com (no spaces).
Give a brief outline of the problem, the fact that you believe it to be a false positive and include the password in the body of the email. Some info on the avast version and VPS number (see about avast {right click avast icon}) will also help.
You could also check the offending/suspect file at: Jotti - Multi engine on-line virus scanner if any other scanners here detect them it is less likely to be a false positive. You can’t do this with the file in the chest, you will need to move it out.
Or VirusTotal - Multi engine on-line virus scanner
well… my Shutdown Monster (ShutdC.exe) false positive still not fixed yet.
http://shutdown.sf.net/setup.exe
Have you sent it to avast and checked it at Jotti, etc.
If so add it to the exclusions lists and check scan it periodically using the ashQuick scan (right click scan), when it is no longer detected then remove it from the exclusions.
Avast antivirus is reporting a false positive that CQPhone installer contains a trojan. The problem happens only on the installation .exe, not on the installed files. We have complained about this to Avast and they say they have fixed the problem in their latest update (Aug. 23, 2005). For details, contact Pavel Mourek at Avast mourek@avast.com
No other antivirus programs have this problem. I am currently using AntiVir which I find is very good. I have used AVG which is also a good program. Many people are using Norton.
That is written on cqphone help.I am using Avast
Nice job and very fast Thanks ;D
If as reported in your post #4 on this thread, it was/is fixed on the 23/9/2005 VPS
What version of the VPS were you using?
Have you had an auto VPS update or done a manual update and did you check it afterwards?
Edit:
Nice job and very fast ThanksDoes this mean it is no longer detected?
I’ve just dowloaded this file. Nothing is detected…
I checked now with the update no problem …solved…thanks(the problem was 3 days ago)
Would have been good to have tested it again prior to posting.
Doesn’t really matter now though, you will know what to do if it happens again.
A belated welcome to the forums.
you should try to install it. :-\
fixed by VPS: 0535-1.
