Once again having problems with computer. Again, Avast didnt pick anything. can only start computer in Safe mode. Ran Malware but who knows where it was saved because it wouldnt let me choose, only view log, even that took 2 1/2 hours, came back with no errors.
Previously Dropbox was causing problems so removed it.
Avast is turned off and wont turn on
Attach your basic logs. (MBAM, FRST and aswMBR…!!)

Ran Malware but who knows where it was saved because it wouldnt let me choose, you mean save log ..... in Malwarebytes?
when you open Malwarebytes > top right History button > on left side Application logs
click the log you want, then View … or just double click the log you want … then in lower left corner, export txt file … to where you want it
Nope, no “History”, No Export nothing. could it be because it is in safe mode? Cannot get the computer out of Safe Mode, have tried for 2 days. Even when I click on Normal it runs on safe, fortuntately I was able to get Safe Networking this time
got this just now
daughter was visiting and downloaded Microsoft Silverfish, it won’t let me remove it
do you have FRST logs? … they are the important ones
nothing else. Malware runs, shows log but wont let me save it
have no idea what this is, but…
have you run the FRST (farbar recovery scan tool) as instructed in the link Asyn gave you?
or as you did here under Essexboys instructions https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=151279.msg1099030#msg1099030
anyway, Essexboy will be online tomorrow and assist you
slow but sure
Usually MBAM lets you run in Safe Mode with Networking. Can you try doing that? Please attach the log if possible. After doing all the logs, please do not make any changes to your machine until the Malware removal specialist assists you. Thank you.
Hi, the computer is configured to only start in safe mode. Hence normal mode will not work. Has someone been playing with MSConfig ?
CAUTION : This fix is only valid for this specific machine, using it on another may break your computer
Open notepad and copy/paste the text in the quotebox below into it:
safeboot: ==> The system is configured to boot to Safe Mode <===== ATTENTION! EmptyTemp: CMD: bitsadmin /reset /allusers
Save this as fixlist.txt, in the same location as FRST.exe
Run FRST and press Fix
On completion a log will be generated please post that
my daughter was visiting, something happened while she here / on it. She swears she didnt do anything. I am smart enough to know I dont know squat…
Computer has been slow for a long long time
Kids don’t you just love 'em
The fix should allow you back into normal mode. If you could run a fresh FRST scan when you are there (include the additions) I will see what is what
Ran fix and it went back to normal start up.
Nothing untoward showing when do you experience the slowness ?
