so I am leery about this??
Exactly why I will never be interested in this product. Feels like scareware.

I don’t think it’s wise to post that link - it contains some kind of ID, I suppose your ID… and I’m not sure what it could be used for.
As for the alert itself - I believe the information is returned from the ID company, i.e. it’s certainly not avast! trying to scare you. On the other hand, there might be a bug somewhere of course (e.g. the first report always being considered as changed, i.e. raising the alert). No idea, I don’t really know much about how it works internally.

As I said, I am not sure - but I can imagine, just theoretically, that it could be used to get some more info, if you knew how.

I would of hoped that avast did their
research before hooking up with this service!!
I’m sure it was done, and I’m sure somebody else could explain more in detail… just not me, my area of expertise is elsewhere
Where does this show up? I did an upgrade and never saw a request for it, and its not in the “Programs and Features” list for Avast! OTOH I think I probably need it as much as Iyogi.
