Hi malware fighters,
Fully agree with Marc57 here, the situation is rather under-estimated by many. Vincent Cerf, co-author of the TCP/IP Internetprotocolls and the main architecture of the World Wide Web, has warned against the botnet danger during the World Economic Forum. During this annual meeting of CEO’s, international politicians and a selection of intellectual leaders Cerf, now active for Google, told that zombies (zombie botnets) threaten the very Internet structurer of the future, and their spreading has now reached pandemic proportions.
The Father of the Internet predicted that 25% of all computers hanging onto the Internet, are infected with approx. a 150.000.000 Trojans, that render attackers full control over these boxes.
Criminals can use botnets to spreas spam, steal confidential data, spread malware, and execute denial of service attacks. Experts said Cerf’s warnings are very realistic, and the situation for 2007 only looks gloomier. Is the Internet in need of a fence to keep those that threaten it out?
