Critical leaks in Linksys router

Hi people on broadband behind a router,

A Dutch security site has informed Secunia of four critical leaks in the most used Linksys Broadband router.

Hi Polonus!

This just happens to be the router i’m using…I’m looking into it right now

Hi darth.mikey,

It is a somewhat older exploit, but apparently not yet patched.
You would not care to know what kind of buffer overflow exploits are layong around. They must have access to the web management interface (strong password it). Normally they can’t find in what way you hang behind it (10.x.x.x).

greets,

polonus

Hi Polonus i’ve just downloaded the new firmware(not the default Linksys one i hate that firmware) which is based off the newest official Linksys one, should be safe now i hope, altough i think i was never in any real danger.

Thanks for the info though

Mikey
