Criticism about Avast 7.0.1474.

Why Avast 7.0.1474 is still a latest stable version?

It doesn’t make any sense that I have to install a faulty version of Avast, and then wait for a emergency update to be applied (aswnet64, aswnet32)… and also Script Shield needs a patch (http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=109977.msg868918#msg868918).

Please, release a new installer which includes all these patches, so people can make a proper clean installs. Or are you just going to release Avast 8.0 and leave Avast 7.0.1474 as it is?

Avast 7.0.1474 was released on October 31, 2012 and it’s still a latest stable, so this tells how much Avast cares about its customers.

That is old 7.0.1473. The new is 7.0.1474.

The vast majority that need that patch are windows 8 users. The operating system is still very new, all trials were done on a standard windows 8. Unfortunately very few computers are standard. So some problems will rear their heads that were not found during the initial testing. Myself on both windows 8 and 7 (64bit) have experienced none of the problems these patches apply to

I know. Read the first line on Vlk’s blog post and you’ll see there won’t be another 7 version. Oh, except the 3 for the 4.

Actually it says that was the plan. Circumstances can , and already have (1474), change the plan.
